Get the 'Buffy' scoop

After weeks of reruns interrupted by only one new entry, "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" returns this week with an all-new episode.

To celebrate the return of the slayer herself, several websites have spoken with Marti Noxon, the show's executive producer, about upcoming plot points and future plans for the series.

These are the important bits of information AllPop found in interviews with Marti done by both E! Online and EW.com:

  • There are no immediate plans for another "Angel" and "Buffy" crossover. Now that the shows are on different networks (UPN & The WB), combining story lines is a bit awkward.
  • Expect "Buffy" to remain steamy. The Buffy/Spike relationship has raised a few eyebrows, but Marti says: "it's not going to get less sexy for awhile".
  • Rampant Web rumours that one of the main "Buffy" characters will be slayed this season could be true ... then again, they might be false. Marti reminded E! Online that one of the main characters did indeed die last season (Buffy, for those of you who forget) and that "there's always going to be a big death eventually". It's interesting to note, though, that all of the show's most important cast members are under contract through next season.
  • A CD containing the music performed during the musical episode of "Buffy", titled "Once More With Feeling", is in the works.
  • Buffy's major nemesis this season won't come in the form of an apocalypse-inducing monster. "It's not the same as it has been in the past. It's somewhat more generated by our own characters," Marti said about this season's climactic problem.
  • Yes, the powers that be at "Buffy" would love to welcome back Eliza Dushku (Faith) and Seth Green (Oz), but the two actors haven't been available to return to the show.
  • Marti refused to say whether or not viewers have seen how truly bad Willow can be. But she did say that Willow's inner nerdiness and insecurity could tempt the character to return to her magic-abusing ways.
  • Joss Whedon is working on a new TV series for Fox titled "Firefly". The show is described by Marti as a "science-fiction western".
  • So far, there's no definite end in site for the series. When asked if she knows when the show will wrap up, Marti simply said, "If key members don't want to continue, we won't." (More on: Buffy)
