'Alias' star visits alternate "Felicity"
Jennifer Garner ("Alias") returns to The WB's "Felicity" on May 8.
Jennifer will be back playing the role of Hanna, ex-girlfriend of Noel (Scott Foley, Jennifer's husband), EW.com reports.
The episode on which Jennifer appears will focus on an alternate universe wherein fans can see what Felicity's (Keri Russell) senior year at university would be like if she had decided to date Noel instead of Ben (Scott Speedman).
J.J. Abrams, the creator of both "Felicity" and "Alias", told EW.com that he'd love to see Keri pop up on "Alias" someday as one of Jennifer's enemies.
This is "Felicity's" final season.

One member of the Felicity-Ben-Noel love triangle (which has been the main theme throughout the show's lifetime), Scott Foley (Noel), is the star of a brand new show, zap2it.com reports.
Scott will star in "AUSA" for NBC, which is being described by NBC entertainment president Jeff Zucker as "Scrubs" with lawyers".
The series, which is being shot with a single camera, casts Scot as a hopeful young lawyer named Ben, who has just kicked off his job as a prosecutor in Manhattan.
Meanwhile, "Felicity" star Keri Russell is now on the big screen in the Mel Gibson war drama "We Were Soldiers". while her on-screen and sometimes off-screen boyfriend Scott Speedman (Ben) has signed on for the independent movie "My life With Me".

'Felicity's' Ruby won't return
The "Felicity" series finale is coming closer, but fans won't see the return of Ruby as the show draws to a close.
Amy Smart ("Road Trip") had a recurring role on The WB's college drama as the girlfriend of Noel but left the show when her character became pregnant with a different man, TV Guide reports.
"I had the best experience on Felicity," Amy told TV Guide. "I came back for an episode and brought my baby to Noel's graduation. That put a resolution to my character."
Next up for the 25-year-old actress is a role in "Scotland, PA", which is described as a satire of Shakespeare's "Macbeth".

'Felicity' bows with a bang
*Warning, spoilers* -- Most "Felicity" fans now know that their favourite show ends for good this season, but they might not know some of the rumoured plot details that are leaking all over the Internet.
The two-hour series finale of The WB college drama will air on May 22, and although Felicity (Keri Russell) and her friends are graduating from college, the finale won't revolve around caps and gowns, TV Guide reports.
The graduation episode airs in April, and the following four episodes tie up remaining story lines.
"In these episodes that we are telling post-graduation, it's almost as if it's a new premise," show creator J.J. Abrams told TV Guide. "There's a new kind of energy and a new drive in the show that hasn't been there in a while. It's a way of appropriately looking back at the four years ... and revisiting the time that Felicity's had -- especially over the last year."
Here are the rumours being reported about the "Felicity" finale: a major character dies, Julie (Amy Jo Johnson) comes back, and Jennifer Garner, currently starring on "Alias", will return to her role as Noel's ex-girlfriend Hannah.
Abrams also promises that when "Felicity" finishes, the main character will finally decide between the two boys she's bounced between for the duration of the series.
"She will [finally] decide between Ben and Noel," he said.

'Felicity' ends this year
After weeks of speculation and rumour, the official word is in: "Felicity" is over.
The WB's college drama is retiring from television after four seasons, with a two-hour season finale on May 22 , EW.com reports.
The show, currently on hiatus, will return on March 20, as the writers wrap-up loose-ends and story lines and send Felicity and her friends to their graduation from the University Of New York.
"One of the joys of the series was this coming-of-age story about Felicity Porter in college," WB Entertainment president Jordan Levin told EW.com. "It's the end of her senior year. It felt like a natural place to close the story."
"Felicity" hasn't been a money-generator for The WB, which pays almost a million per episode for the series, which averages a relatively paltry 3.3 million viewers.
Levin also admitted that the ratings slipped this season as creator J.J. Abrams switched his focus to the highly successful spy series "Alias".
The on-going romantic triangle that fuelled "Felicity" -- Felicity (Keri Russell), Noel (Scott Foley) and Ben (Scott Speedman) -- is expected to be resolved when the series takes its last bow.
Not all the "Felicity" stars will be out of work after May 22. Greg Grunberg, who plays Ben's roommate, is expected to continue to appear on "Alias".

'Felicity' might have a chance
Reports that The WB's college drama "Felicity" is a lost cause may have been premature.
According to zap2it.com, The WB's entertainment president, Jordan Levin, is going to wait to see how the program does when it returns to television in April before deciding if it will stay or go.
The series is currently on hiatus. Its time slot is being filled by much-hyped new thriller "Glory Days".
"Felicity" didn't enjoy stellar ratings in 2001, but Levin told zap2it.com that the show usually picks up during the second half of the season.
But if "Glory Days" has better ratings than "Felicity", it's expected to take permanent control of the time slot.
Although AllPop reported E! Online's comment that the show was toast, zap2it.com reports that the stars of the show are still under contract for a few more seasons. Touchstone, which produces "Felicity", is also under contract to produce a fifth season of the college drama if The WB orders it.
Jed Petrick, president and CEO of The WB, also said that "Felicity" is good for revenue because it attracts advertisers.
Despite revenue and ratings improvement possibilities, Levin did admit that he is less than thrilled with the show since J.J. Abrams, the co-creator and co-executive , left to focus on his spy drama "Alias".
"'Felicity's' been a show that's ebbed and flowed throughout the years. It came back very strong the latter half of last year, [making] it very difficult not to pick up," Levin told zap2it.com. "J.J. Abrams is not involved substantially this season -- I think it has creatively suffered a bit because of that."
The last 11 episodes of this season of "Felicity" are set to begin in April.

'Felicity' future looks grim
Sorry, "Felicity" fans. It looks as though the college heroine will say goodbye to TV land once the show ends for the season.
E! Online's television gossip queen "Wanda" said that there will not be a fifth season of The WB series.
"Apparently, the series will be able to reach the magic number required for syndication, and "the powers that be" feel it's the right time for the show to end, with the gang graduating ... However, we will get the final 11 or so episodes later this season," Wanda wrote during a web chat.
"Felicity's" mastermind, JJ Abrams, is focusing on ABC's spy drama "Alias", which will continue to feature Greg Grunberg, who is also on "Felicity".

'Felicity' tackles mental illness
The creators of "Felicity" have tapped the talents of a star from a Farrelly Brothers' movie.
Shawn Hatosy, who starred in the Farrelly dramedy "Outside Providence" (not one of their gross-out flicks), will appear in tonight's (Wednesday, Dec. 5's) episode of the college drama, zap2it.com reports.
Shawn will play Owen, an art student with a crush on Felicity. He will make future appearances that will find him interacting with Noel (Scott Foley).
Shawn won't be the first "Outside Providence" star to grace "Felicity's" soundstage. Amy Smart, who played the recurring character Ruby on the series, also starred in "Providence".
"Felicity" co-creator Matt Reeves says Shawn's character's future appearances might not involve a budding romance with Felicity, though. The "Felicity" masterminds are hinting at a reconciliation for Felicity and her on-again/off-again boyfriend Ben (Scott Speedman).
"Their relationship is far from over -- they mean too much to each other," he tells zap2it. "We're not interested in ping-ponging [Felicity between Ben and Noel]."
In more "Felicity" news, Reeves says the show plans to tackle the heavy issue of depression this season.
Noel's behaviour has been erratic over the past few seasons. He's changed his name, married on a whim, got a divorce, and ruined Felicity's relationship with Ben. Now the "Felicity" writers are trying to explain his actions.
"We really wanted to break through to a layer with Noel that we hadn't seen before," Reeves told zap2it.com. "The idea came up -- it actually had come up many times before, probably two years ago for the first time. At one point we were like, it looks like Noel has some emotional conflicts."
In order to make the depression storyline believable, the show's writers used research and personal experience and hired a psychiatrist to act as an advisor while writing episodes centred around Noel's problem.
John Litvack, the WB's executive vice president of current programming and scheduling, is being very supportive of Noel's storyline because of his own personal experiences with depression.
"I think TV has historically dealt with the more neurotic or psychotic aspects of depression," he told zap2it.com "I don't think that the chemical imbalance aspect of depression has ever been dealt with."

Felicity takes break in December
The world of "Felicity" will go dark on Dec. 19 when The WB airs the final winter episode of the university drama.
The "Felicity" time slot will be snapped up by Kevin Williamson's ("Dawson's Creek") new series called "Glory Days", TV Guide reports.
"Glory Days" stars Eddie Cahill, who made guest appearances on both "Friends" and "Felicity" last year. According to imdb.com, the series is based on this premise: "The author of a tell-all book gets writer's block and decides to return home for inspiration, only to find that the town locals aren't too happy with his last book".
"Felicity" will return to the air in April with all new episodes.
The WB used the same scheduling method with "Felicity" last year in an effort to win higher ratings for the drama by avoiding reruns.
Last season, "Felicity" shared a slot with "Jack & Jill" (Amanda Peet), but that series didn't benefit from the plan and was cancelled.

'Felicity' gets moody again
"Felicity" is getting sombre again as she and her two suitors enter their biggest love triangle yet.
Keri Russell, who plays "Felicity" on The WB, told zap2it.com that one of the show's creators, Matt Reeves, is bringing "Felicity" back to its original tone.
Last season, the gang went a bit wacky and silly and lost a lot of the melodramatic sighs and the intense conversations that used to be identified with the show.
"Last year one of main directions we were given, as a note from the network, was to make it more fun and more 'college.' Even visually -- the colours in the show were much more brightly lit, they wanted us all in a lot of colours," Keri told zap2it.com. "When the show started it was kind of quiet and intimate, a lot of brown ... I think they wanted to kind of liven it up a bit. Now that we have Matt Reeves really focusing on it, his tendency is more quiet, dramatic."
As "Felicity" becomes slightly sombre once again, the love triangle between Felicity, her boyfriend Ben, and her ex-boyfriend Noel continues to heat up. Early on this season, Felicity slept with Noel, and Keri says Ben will eventually find out.
"He's going to find out what happened with Noel, and that's going to be a very bad time," she said.
Future episodes of "Felicity" will include a pregnancy scare (Felicity's") and the final decision of whether or not Felicity will continue on with her art career or if she'll return to her original plan of going pre-med.
Keri said that even though the show is now in its fourth season, she still enjoys playing Felicity.

'Felicity' shake-up
The cast of "Felicity" will be joined by a new guest star this season.
Lisa Edelstein, who appeared as a trans-gender woman on several episodes of "Ally McBeal" last year, is making her way over to The WB's university drama, TV Guide reports.
Lisa will play a woman who gets between Felicity (Keri Russell) and her boyfriend Ben (Scott Speedman) when her character makes its first of several appearances on Nov. 14.
Lisa won't be the only change in "Felicity's" future. Rumours spell a break-up between Felicity and Ben, and a message from executives on the show (J.J. Abrams & Matt Reeves), hints at plot-lines as the characters settle into their last year at university.
"Dear Fans," reads the posting. "With our senior year comes the added responsibility of 22 new episodes and dynamic changes in the lives of our ensemble. Felicity will air without repeats, concluding this summer with 4 post-graduation episodes."

'Felicity' star doubles on 'Alias'
The WB's university drama "Felicity" and ABC's spy drama "Alias" have a few things in common.
J.J. Abrams is the executive producer of both shows, the star Jennifer Garner is a former "Felicity" co-star, and Greg Grunberg -- better known as Sean on 'Felicity -- keeps popping up on the "Alias" set, zap2it.com reports.
Abrams originally asked Greg to try out for a major role on "Alias", but he wasn't right for the part. Greg, who told Abrams he loved the "Alias" script, eventually got written into the show as Agent Weiss. He has appeared in every episode so far, although sometimes he doesn't have much to do.
"That one scene in the pilot, I'm just standing there and I hand over a pen," he told zap2it.com.
Greg hopes that someday his character will get a first name and that he'll eventually be able to move from "Felicity" to do "Alias" full-time.
"For me it would be a dream to do 'Felicity' for a few more years then cross over to that show," he told zap2it. "I love 'Alias'. What would be really funny, when ['Felicity'] ends, is that this is the way Sean has been making money is at the CIA, undercover," he adds. "The crazy invention thing is just a front."

'Felicity' premieres tonight
Tonight (Wednesday) marks the season premiere of "Felicity" on The WB.
This year Felicity (Keri Russell) is entering her last year of university and will have to deal with graduation, the real world and her ongoing love triangle with Ben and Noel (Scott Speedman and Scott Foley).
"Ben returns with a secret that affects his relationship with Felicity enormously," J.J. Abrams, the show's creator, told TV Guide Online, "and conversely, she and Noel have spent the summer together, so they're in a very different place than they were at the end of last year."
Other elements fans can look forward to this season: the return of Sally, Felicity's friend whom she sends audio diaries to; the marriage of Sean and Meghan; and the guest appearances of Lionel Richie and Monica, as well as the brief return of Amy Jo Johnson as Felicity's friend Julie.
Sad news for Canadian "Felicity" fans without access to The WB, though -- CTV hasn't scheduled the show yet.
A message on CTV's official website says the network hasn't made plans to air season four of the college drama yet.
"Felicity - season 4 is not scheduled for the fall," reads the message. "This does not mean that CTV is not airing Felicity at all - it means simply, that it isn't currently on the schedule. We realize that this is frustrating for viewers, and we apologize."
If you can't survive the fall without a small taste of "Felicity", check out The WB's official website, to see trailers of upcoming episodes.

The WB may have lost "Buffy" and cancelled "Roswell", but it's still got a long list of other popular teen shows that will return this fall.

On the witchy front, Rose McGowan is taking over for Shannen Doherty on "Charmed", which also gets a two-hour season premiere, on Sept. 27, TV Guide reports.

'Felicity' scoop
Wedding bells are rumoured for a mystery couple on The WB's university drama "Felicity".
Last season the show ended with a wedding proposal from Tracy (Donald Faison) to Elena (Tangi Miller), and sources at the show say Elena will say yes, zap2it.com reports.
But Faison will be starring in a new NBC show during the fall season titled "Scrubs", and no one is saying how he will juggle both "Felicity" and his new show. A spokesperson at Touchstone, which produces the show, said that this season will feature a wedding and a break-up -- but those events could happen to two separate couples.
In more "Felicity" news, Ian Gomez, who plays the flamboyant Dean and Deluca manager Javier, will become a regular cast member this season. Ian's character married his same-sex partner on the show and decided to join his younger friends at university last season.
During Ian's first few years on the show, he was also appearing in "The Drew Carey Show" and "Norm". This fall he'll be on "Felicity" and a new CBS sitcom titled "Danny".
This "Felicity" season could also see the return of Amy Jo Johnson, who played Felicity's friend Julie, as a returning guest star.

Felicity returns on May 30
Remember Felicity?
While the series returned for a third season last fall on The WB in the U.S., show rich CTV left it on the shelf. For those that remember, it stars curly-haired cutie Keri Russell as a somewhat naive New York college student.
Now that other shows are winding down for the year, the Canadian network is finally giving Felicity a berth.
The hour-long drama, which also stars Toronto's Scott Speedman (as Felicity's beau Ben), Scott Foley and Amy Jo Johnson, returns May 30 at 8 p.m. (replacing My Wife And Kids).
Guest stars for season three include Tyra Banks, John Ritter (as Ben's father) and Paul Mazursky (as a professor).
CTV still has a season's worth of Popular and Spin City waiting in the wings.
