Larose CHL Player of the Week
Chad Larose of the Ontario Hockey League's Plymouth Whalers is the Canadian Hockey League Player
of the Week for the week ending October 6, 2002. Each week during the 2002-2003 season the CHL will name a
player of the week selected from each of the CHL's member leagues' players of the week.
A native of Fraser, Michigan, Larose recorded eight points on six goals and a pair of assists in three road games
last week, a week that saw the Whalers earn four of a possible six points. A highlight of Larose's week
was a four-goal one assist performance in Plymouth's 7-4 win over the Mississauga IceDogs on October
6. The twenty -year old right winger leads the Whalers in scoring with 11 goals and four assists in six games
this season.
Right winger Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens was the Quebec Major Junior Hockey
League's Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 6. The QMJHL's second
leading scorer had seven points on two goals and five assists in three games last week. QMJHL Defensive Player
of the Week honours went to James Sanford of the Moncton Wildcats. In three games last week Sanford was a
plus five had scored once and added a pair of assists. Western Hockey League's Player of the Week was
Tim Konsorada of the Brandon Wheat Kings. In four games last week the 18-year-old from Lamont, Alberta
recorded 11 points on one goal and 10 assists.
